i was working in a local shop up until 6 weeks ago, when i was held up by an armed robber, the doctor signed me off sick, but recently i decided to go back to work
i spoke to my employer and stated that i am happy to go back, but i am not willing to work until 10pm, as they have not added any extra security, and i simply wouldnt feel safe.
She then told me if i dont work til 10 i have no job, so i feel like i have no alternative but to leave.
Someone mentioned that this is constructive dissmisal... does any one know anything about this?
i have not as yet handed in my notice, im unsure what to do
genuine advice please xx

Assuming you are in the UK, yes it could be Constructive Dismissal.
You say you work till 10pm. Do the premises shut then? Or is it just the end of your shift? Are there security cameras?
Are you working alone? What risks do you face?
You say your employer has not improved security measures. Is it because they simply can't, or they don't want to spend the money?
Your employer has an obligation to provide you with a safe place of work., but you also have a responsibility to take care.
You have not provided much to go on here, but you might have a valid claim. See a solicitor
where do you live?
That is the right of the employer. I think you need to find other employment that allows you to feel more secure.
Think about it, if your employer is not interested in extra security of his business and its employees why work for him.
That is awful can you not get compensation from the shop, you poor thing.
