Personally, I believe this is a very uncivilized way of dealing with crime. However, I do not agree with the current systems either.
Say, the United States turns to corporal punishment for its criminals? Do you think this would work? Why or why not?

While I don't believe in it's use at all, I find it interesting that you are talking about it being used on criminals. Were or are you aware of the fact that it is used on school children in public schools here in the United States? Many states have banned it's use, but there are some hold outs. I guess if it's good enough for our young children, it should be okay for convicted felons!

Prisons are full of people who gave no thought to the possible punishment when deciding to commit their crimes. Changing the nature of the punishment will only change the nature of the thing that is irrelevant to the decision to commit a crime.
Well, it will never happen. Somehow I think beating criminals would be considered cruel and unusual punishment.
