Well a while ago, my mom said she'd stop waking me up for school, I had my own responsibilities. I was fine with that and started using my alarm clock. A couple weeks in, I guess I must have pressed the snooze too many times because I looked at the clock and it was 8:21 (my school starts at 7:45). So I knew I was late, but I figured, if I'm 5 minutes late or 95 minutes late, I'm still late. So I still did my regular morning routine (shower, put on my uniform, eat, etc). By the time I was done, it was about 8:53. My parents were at work and the buses were long gone, so I walked to school. I turned a couple streets too late, so I missed the school. After going through the neighborhood I accidentally entered, I realized, I was lost. I figured to just keep walking and I'd find it eventually. I'm walking and a loud noise scares me. It's a cop siren. He comes out and is all mean to me. He asked where I was headed off too. I told him school. Then he asked me why I was walking this
Answers:
You were not in school.
You were detained for being not in school.
The officer was well within his/her rights to detain you under the circumstances.
It was probably all handled legally -- but it does seem excessive for the "crime".
I would never hit that snooze button again .
i think the force was excessive if you are not a student that is usually in trouble i would say that you were treated unfairly and i would push the issue till you got results he shuld have been nicer to you about taking you in he had no reason to treat you liket hat.. tell your parents you want to find out whats goin on adn you want your treatement questioned..
kind of i meen u were not in school, if i was a cop Ive just brought u to school and shut my mouth
I'm sure it was legal, but I do think they could of handled it a bit more casually. Especially the hand cuffs.
I think this is a big BS story. I do not believe you were cuffed because of truancy. I don't believe you couldn't find your own school. Pretty good fiction story. Problem is, it makes cops look bad.
I have way too many of her little "lost catholic school girl in handcuffs" question to believe a single word that comes out her mouth -- this is why more parents need to supervise their children on the internet.
He can, but he didn't have to handle it that way. The only way you could get back at him is to investigate if he usually handles things as harsh as in your case. If he does, you may get together wiht other people who have been treated harshly by him, and file a complain.
