Disorderly Conduct Charge?

My friend was caught drinking in public in nyc. He was caught by an undercover cop, so he emptied the bottle and two officers arrived and decided to give him a summons which I thought was normal, but he tried to explain his way out of it and what happens he got arrested for disorderly conduct. He spent the night in jail... My question being it is his first offense will it effect him in the future. What he told me was that he appeared in court and the case took about two minutes, but he never received any fine. he is just confused and worried. I told him that it was no biggie but he is not taking my word. Can anyone share their opinion. Thanks

forget what that woman up there said, doing as you are told only gets you into more trouble, the problem with cops these days is that they have chips on their shoulders and everybody is guilty to them until proven innocent. Your friend should contact the court, and I am sure that he has a CASE number and find out for PEACE OF MIND exactly what is going on with his case, and what can be done about it.
He'll be fine. Tell him don't worry. Next time tell him not to aruge or try to get out of the charge just keep his mouth shut and do as he is told!
What did he go to court for? Did he enter a plea or was this just to get a future court date. He really needs to look at his paperwork. It sounds like he hasn't a clue what happened.

It could very well have been that the court "withhled ajudication", D%26D is a pretty minor thing. Often times they just kick the case out because they don't want to waste time with it.

Have him contact the Clerk of the Criminal Court and see if there is a court date.

Best of luck

Joe
